There is a good mix of guests who prefer to prepay before they arrive at the hotel, and those who prefer to pay after they have arrived at a hotel. There are pros and cons to both types of payment methods.
Implementation of the payment gateway on the booking engine ensures that bookings hotels receive are from qualified customers. It also saves a hotel’s time and effort spent on following up on bookings which have a high risk of not materialising, or to recover partial or full costs in case of cancellations and no-shows.
Although the current version of the payment gateway only has the option to prepay, we are keeping a close eye on the conversion rates. In the future, we may build the ability to offer both prepay and postpay options.
