Watch: How to Create Guest Coupons in HMS
Instructions:
- In HMS go to the menu option 'Booking engine', within it you can find 'Coupons'.
- On the 'Coupons' page. Here you can find a new section 'Guest Coupon'.
- Click 'Add guest coupon' and fill in all the necessary information and settings. Remember:
- Code can only contain letters and numbers, no spaces or special characters;
- Code is case sensitive, so if you have created a code “SAVE20”, typing in “save20” will not work on the booking engine;
- For value add coupons, the description will be shown to guests in the booking engine after the coupon has been validated.
- Now the Guest coupon is created.
Tracking bookings made with coupons
Users can easily retrieve bookings which have coupons applied by using the Columns and Filters feature on the All Reservations page.
For example, if a hotel would like to view the list of bookings with the "NEWYEAR2024" coupon code applied:
- On the All Reservations page, click on Columns and Filters button.
- Make sure that the 'Coupon Code' column checkbox is ticked. You can also change the column order by dragging and dropping the column as necessary.
- Click on the Coupon Code box and key in "NEWYEAR2024".
- Click 'Apply' to see the list.
You can also save this setting for future use by clicking the 'Save as Custom View' button. Refer to these articles to learn more:
Bookings without applied coupon codes will display 'N/A' in the Coupon Code column. If hotels have distributed multiple coupon codes and would like to see the list of bookings that have applied those coupon codes, select 'Descending' in the Coupon Code box. This will list all coupon codes in reverse chronological order.
