This report provides an overview of the performance by Room Type. It includes performance metrics like room occupancy, Average Daily Rate (ADR), Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR), and Revenue for a specific date range. By default, it displays this data on a daily basis, but it can also be adjusted to aggregate the performance metrics by week, month, quarter, year or a custom period.
The report displays data by Stay Date, and contains both historical and future information. A Stay Date that has passed will indicate “History” in the Date group column, the first column of the report. Conversely, a Stay Date in the future will have OTB indicated in the Date group column.
There are three views: a chart and two tables found on the report: (1) Room Type production chart, (2) Room Type production table, and (3) Room Type production totals table.
(1) The Room type production chart shows the overall occupied rooms in stacked bar charts, categorised by room types and stay dates.
(2) The Room type production table displays the data by day, and groups the rows by Historical (Stay Dates which have passed) and OTB (Stay Dates in the future), along with the corresponding room types occupied on each date.
If today is February 1, 2024, and the selected date range is from 25 Jan to 8 Feb 2024 (configured with a relative time range of 7 days before and after), the table displays two groups of data organised by History (25 Jan to 31 Jan) and OTB (1 Feb to 7 Feb) for each room type.
To retrieve the data from a specific date and time range, customise the time period from the report filters, located at the top of the page.
(3) The Room type production totals table displays the aggregated metrics for the entire date range selected, organised by the room type.
For example, if the selected dates are 1 Jan 2023 to 2 Jan 2024 and the room types selected are only Deluxe and Deluxe Suite, there will be two rows of total data. The first row shows the total aggregated metrics from 1 Jan 2023 - 1 Jan 2024 for Deluxe Double room type. The second row shows the total aggregated metrics from 1 Jan 2023 - 1 Jan 2024 for Deluxe Twin room type.
Room Type Filter
Within the Room Type Production report, users can use an additional filter to view the data for (a) specific Room Type(s).
Always remember to click on the master Apply button after changing the selected filters.
Scenario:
Hotel wants to view aggregated data from the Room Type Production data for the period of 1 Jan to 1 Feb 2024, specifically for two room types, the Deluxe Double and Deluxe Twin, with the data grouped by day.
Explanation:
- The Time Filter is set to ‘Custom’ as the range type, configured with a Specific Date/Time starting on 1 Jan (inclusive) and ending on 2 Feb* (exclusive), organised on a daily basis. The room types that should appear are only Deluxe Double and Deluxe Twin.
*To include February 1st, the end date must be set to February 2nd with timestamp 00:00:00, NOT February 1st. - The Time Grain is set to group data by Day. The past dates are in the History group and the upcoming dates are in the OTB group.
- There will be 2 rows of data in the table: “Deluxe Double” and “Deluxe Twin”.
Downloading the Report
The entire page of the Room Type production can be downloaded as an image by clicking the three horizontal dots at the upper right corner of the page.
Each of the views can be downloaded individually as well, by clicking on the three dots at the top-right corner of each view. A dropdown list will appear with three options: as a .CSV file, an Excel file, and an image.
